Take your chair dance skills to the next level with Chair 2, an advanced class designed for students who have completed a minimum of two sessions of Chair 1. Graduation to level 2 is at the teacher’s discretion, ensuring readiness for more complex techniques and choreography.

Overview:

Chair 2 builds upon the foundational skills learned in Chair 1, focusing on advanced techniques, choreography, and artistic expression using chairs as props. This class challenges you to refine your balance, strength, and creativity in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What to Expect:

• Advanced Techniques: Dive deeper into intricate chair dance techniques, including more complex transitions, spins, and lifts.
• Choreography Development: Learn and refine sophisticated chair dance routines that highlight your skills and creativity.

Prerequisite: Completion of at least two sessions of Chair 1 is required. Graduation to Chair 2 is at the teacher’s discretion based on skill level and readiness. 

After taking Chair 1 (required) students must know the following moves:

• Flip Over
• Flip Under
• Shoulder Stand on Floor
• Hook
• Double Stag Jump
• Straddle to Jazz Split
• Eagle
• Bow & Arrow

Students must be able to hold the chair over their head, turn with the chair, stand on and off the chair with ease, jump off the chair and spin the chair.

Safety Note: Chair dance may not be suitable for individuals with severe neck, back, or knee injuries due to the physical demands of the class.

Attire and Requirements:

• Wear long pants for comfort and protection during chair maneuvers. Bring kneepads.
• Footwear options include jazz shoes or non-marking indoor runners, providing stability and safety during movements. No heels.
