Overview:
An introduction to foundational chair dance skills and techniques, emphasizing balance, strength, and fluidity of movement. This steamy and dynamic class combines fitness with artistic expression, empowering you to embrace your sensual side in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What to Expect:

  • Skill Development: Learn basic to intermediate chair dance techniques and apply them to choreographed routines that highlight your balance and core strength.
  • Performance Optional: While performance opportunities are available, participation in shows is optional. Each six-week session culminates in learning a full piece of choreography for our annual performances.
  • Inspiration from Film: Draw inspiration from iconic movies like Cabaret and Flashdance, exploring how chairs can enhance storytelling and performance on stage.

Safety Note: Please be aware that chair dance may not be suitable for individuals with severe neck, back, or knee injuries due to the physical demands of the class.

Attire and Requirements:

  • Comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Leggings highly recommended due to the nature of this genre.
  • Jazz shoes, socks.
  • Bring a positive attitude and willingness to explore new movements and techniques.
