Get ready to move and groove with Brazilian Funk, a high-energy dance class that brings the heat of Brazil straight to the studio! Known for its infectious beats and bold, booty-shaking moves, Brazilian Funk (Funk Carioca) comes directly from mentors, choreographers, and teachers in Brazil, and blends elements of hip hop, samba, and reggaeton to create a dynamic and fun style that's all about expression and attitude. 

What to Expect:

  • Warm-Up: We’ll kick things off with a cardio-intensive warm-up to get your heart rate up and loosen up those hips, legs, and core. Expect to engage your whole body with movements that enhance flexibility and coordination.
  • Technique: You'll learn the essential grooves and rhythms that define the style, including:
  • Quadradinho: Master this iconic move with hip isolations and core control.
  • Booty Shaking, Mexe, Jogando na Bunda & More: Build confidence and strength as you work on booty pops, isolations, and full-body movements.
  • Footwork (passinho) + Grooves: Get into the flow of the funk with fun, energetic footwork patterns that make your whole body move to the beat.
  • Choreography: The class builds a dynamic combo that builds on the foundations. You’ll put everything together, combining footwork, hip movements, and attitude into a full routine.
  • Cool Down: End with a well-deserved stretch session to relax your muscles and maintain flexibility after a fast-paced class.

Who This Class is For:
This class is taught at an open-level, intended for dancers of multiple levels of comfortability with the style. If you’re new & curious about Brazilian Funk or looking to build confidence in body isolations and booty shaking, this is the class for you!
