Carmen began dancing at age 4 in Slave Lake, Alberta and over the years took many classes including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and tap until age 18. Carmen moved to Victoria in 2011 with the plan of finishing her degree at the University of Victoria, where not long after she discovered Passion and Performance when she saw the Promo Crew perform at Club 9one9 in January 2013. After attending Donation Days Carmen was encouraged to join the Performance Class because of her previous dancing background. She fell in love with the studio, it’s unique style of adult dance, and of course the many opportunities to perform. Carmen has Passion and Performance to thank for so many things including increased confidence, improved dancing skills, improved fitness, and the discovery of her love for hula hoop dancing. Carmen is so happy for the opportunities that Passion and Performance has afforded her, and is excited for many more to come – especially now that she is a part of the executive staff!
